Near Miss

I’ve been having a very hard time being motivated to continue the comic.  I’m just not sure what’s next for our little guys. So, I’m trying something new; I’m going to be experimenting with various media for the comic. After working all day behind a computer, the last thing I want to do is get home and fire up Illustrator.

Today’s comic was a joy to draw. For a brief moment I felt like I was back at Nocturna (the coffee shop where I first started developing the alien as a character :) I left all the sketch marks this time around but may change that up in the future.

Let me know what you think. Do you like seeing these hand drawn? Or, do you prefer a cleaner digital style?

I like. Maybe use a ruler or straight edge to set down cell boundaries.
It took me a while to get this comic. I wasn’t sure at first what the center dial was for. I liked the bottom left distance slider quite a bit but it wasn’t until now that I saw what function the center dial performed. I like the unobvious details. It was hard to see at first I think because of the heaviness of the lines.

Thanks for the feedback! I have to admit I’m very much in favor of inconsistent lines for the cell blocking; however, more contrast in the inking is absolutely needed. I used a single sharpie for everything and that wasn’t a smart shortcut. Really, what shortcut is ever a good idea in art?

This was was definitely a bit of a stretch. I was hoping the previous one would help set the stage, but the center “this is the angle to the ground” piece was pretty close to a last minute addition.

Thanks again for the thoughtful feedback!! It really helps! (:

My spouse and i have been now ettaiscc Edward could complete his researching through your precious recommendations he got from your very own weblog. It’s not at all simplistic to simply be giving freely secrets the others might have been trying to sell. And we all know we have the blog owner to thank for that. All of the explanations you made, the simple web site menu, the relationships you can give support to promote it’s mostly astounding, and it’s really letting our son in addition to our family consider that that theme is enjoyable, and that’s very vital. Thank you for the whole lot!
